Christmas Day 2006!

After all the pants weather we had been having we were holding out for a hot day this Christmas! Wierd as it may sound but when you are in a whole other country about as far away as you can possibly be from the UK you kind of want to experience it local style! So we awoke to this and happily enjoyed bagels in the sun!

It was lovely to catch up with friends on skype and to just chill out and open pressies! Santas little elves arrived at about lunch time (although only chocolate and nibbles were available at that point!) and pressie opening got into FULL swing with lots of assistance from the elves who seem to love opening anyones pressies!!!

After a number of competetive games of gin rummy, (santa had left emma a set of playing cards in her stocking.....unfortunately emma didn't know many card games other than snap) the ham arrived with Helen and Paul and then the chickens arrived with Neil and Natalie and Sammy the Salmon was thrown on the barbie! Christmas lunch was served!

So the eating and drinking continued throughout! In fact we ate so much there was little time for anything other than eating, although we confess to watching the Queens speech, wierd to see it before people at home! AND an aussie classic, the Castle which Dan was given for Christmas! A feature length aussie film similar to the Royle Family, very very funny!!! I think we did it, a Kiwi Christmas!!
