Last weekend we went to Akaroa with a few people from our church! It was an absolutely fantastic weekend and if you check out the photos (click here) you may see some familiar faces!
Akaroa is about an hour and a half away from Christchurch and is very very beautiful. It has a real French feel with French street names and signs!
The weather was awesome, bright blue skies, sunny and hot! We took a trip out on the boat to see the dolphins, not only did we see dolphins we saw an albatross, seals, and a penguin BUT the real treat was when they took us out further than nomal right into the ocean AND we saw Orca whales!!!!! It was really good to catch up with Mike and Paddy and to hear all about they have been up to in the states! We had such a laugh with them and we were sad to see them go!
Hope that you enjoy the photos and Dan and I are busy planning our next trip......I think we'll go swimming with the dolphins on that trip!
