Methven.....again!

Jen and Fran are heading south to Queenstown so we headed out to Methven to visit and to get another taste of the mountains! And we had such a fab time. I think we forget that there is life outside of Christchurch, life had been pretty hectic and it was SO nice to get out of town! We were welcomed by a roaring fire and as always in the Mick household, a cup of hot tea!
It was so cool, the first thing we did was watch the sun go down behind the snow capped mountains, very awesome!
Sunday was fab, it started with the miraculous....Dan slept until 10.30. Anyone who knows Dan knows that that almost never happens! Then we went out for the most amazing brunch! Cafe 131 is well worth the visit! Then we headed out to the Mt Hutt reserve to walk off the calories! It was beautiful, the colours, awesome mountains covered in snow and the most amazing birds singing in the trees! We stopped half way for hot squash and cake which the lovely lady at primos had packed up for us! Very quaint!!! Going back to again a roaring fire and hot tea, made leaving to head back to Christchurch really difficult! Can't wait to go back and ski!!
