Further tales from the roadtrip!

Not so much tales really mainly photos! But once we reached the west coast we found the temperature rather cooler and the climate a little damp! Needless to say our first night we had to get fully geared up in waterproofs, just to walk the 50m down the road to the restaurant! It was chucking it down! We did have a lovely day or so looking around Fox Glacier, taking in the "mirror lake", Lake Matheson and walking up to the glaciers! This was before mum's adrenalin pumping helicopter ride! Thankfully she returned unscathed! Thank goodness!

This is the survivor shot! We had just got home after travelling from Fox to Christchurch in one go! I tell you we couldn't have been happier to see a cup of tea! We had a wonderful time and it was a good giggle heading off with no agenda and no plans other than the first night! We had a blast!

Mum spent a few days in Nelson after we got back, just to see a bit more of NZ and to relax a little, it had been quite jam packed! We had a lovely couple of evenings just hanging out when mum returned, drinks with work colleagues, lovely meal out and then unfortunately all too quickly it was time to return to the airport! Thanks so much for coming mum it was so fantastic to see you and a real pleasure to show you round!
