Well we are home, safe and sound after a fantastic if not a little wet trip to the West Coast and the Glaciers with team Staniforth. We have well and truly undertaken a kiwi road trip, narrowly missing getting stranded on Arthurs Pass in pretty severe weather conditions!
Our new experience was using snow chains. The conditions for Arthurs pass today were: closed to towing vehicles, snow chains compulsory for all other vehicles (cars were being turned back!) it was really really bad and at times itseemed like a crazy idea to cross. So we put on the chains.....well we had a go, don't we look convincing!
Then we got some help and things began to come together!
It was pretty scary we have to say, communicated well by the utter silence! But Dan did amazingly well and it will be quite a tale to tell in the future! Though the couple whose van was hanging over the edge maybe won't find it so popular a story, they'll just be glad to get home!
