We had an unbelievably fantastic 48 hours in tokyo, sampling fine food and all the wonders of Tokyo and catching up with Beck and Hiro, it was so fantastic to see them and to just sit and natter after not seeing each other for nearly 3 years. It was as if we had only seen each other last week and was really sad to say goodbye at the end.
We didn't waste any time in getting stuck into seeing tokyo. After a brief stop at Beck and Hiro's lovely house we got straight onto the Bus and headed to Shibuya and the very famous Hachiko pedestrian crossing. It really is that busy and really huge! 
We were very grateful having Hiro and Beck to point us in the right direction! It was lovely to take in some of the area on foot and we wandered to our first food stop for yummy noodles and japaneses curry (well for me anyhow, Dan opted for equally yummy tempura!). Chatting and food ate going to play a big part in the adventures of this holiday!!
Yes the street really is named as per the photo....this was on our walk from lunch to Yoyogi park, where on sundays, large numbers people offer free hugs to passers by!! The park was lovely, a real haven in the midst of all the business of the city! Beautiful sunshine and a relaxing time walking and chatting. We sat and pondered life for a while in the courtyards of one of the temples before heading back into town for a refreshing drink!
We were very much surviving jet lag and pressed on into the evening to enjoy a fantastic meal! We ate locally at a Izakaya restaurant, japanese tapas would be the best way to describe it. We samped a vast array of delicious food, fish cooked in front of us with a blow torch, tofu, prawns and the most delicious green beans but to name few. Beck and I also got stuck into the plum wine, Umeshu. It was delish! Sadly after all the excitement we were unable to party long into the night and headed home to our beds! Awesome day!
