December in summer?

Well we are well and truly into the festive season. It has been a busy month. Dan has been on his first trips away, seeing the "sights" of Greymouth and he is currently up in Auckland attending a course. Emma has started her new job and is busy getting to grips with how things work. Everybody at work is really friendly and welcoming and the socialising has been great! We are both really enjoying settling in and we are looking forward to more exciting adventures!

Getting ready for Christmas is bizarre when it isn't freezing outside and it doesn't get dark until after 9pm! It reduces electricity bills as there is no point in putting the tree lights on until late!!!

We did go to "coca cola christmas in the park"! A massive outdoor concert. Us English really felt at home when it got dark and turned VERY cold. It is a massive event, families and big parties of people head down with there blankets, chairs and hampers of food (and fantastic wine!) and make a real night of it. It was really good if not a little surreal to see people in t-shirts walking around in santa hats!

Natalie and Emma have landed themselves parts in the Christmas pageant at St Johns!! Arghhhh! We'll maybe post some pictures. They are both angels (?) but thankfully Emma avoided a speaking part.

We need to download our photos from our camera and then we will get posting! Including pictures of our house. We have finally got furniture, saturday was our first meal at a table! It was such a novelty. Amazing what you take for granted!
