Arrivals

Well after being delayed by 24 hours, having to stay in two unplanned hotels, visiting a whole extra country, Gran B arrived safe and sound in Christchurch with quite a few extra stamps in her passport!! It was VERY exciting to see her and rather emotional too!

Gran put Dan and I to shame by not being at all tired! No jetlag what so ever, zip! So on Sunday evening when Dan and I were thinking of heading off to bed, Gran was still wide eyed and ready to party! Unfortunately the weather was somewhat disappointing the first few days and the adventures were confined mainly to the house or to Merivale, our local shopping area and mall! Thankfully Gran was able to find a nice cafe to enjoy a "trim latte". My gran is v cool! The sun cleared up on Wednesday and I finished early and took Gran for the Christchurch Cultural Precinct tour, unfortunately by the time we had finished our coffees the weather had switched and we had an absolutely freezing walk back to the car!

Well on thursday morning we got up nice and early to take Gran for the coach for her 8 day trip round the South Island!

So this is Gran's big blue and yellow Kirra Tours Bus, the people seemed lovely and very friendly which was great! And the sun was shining as we waved Goodbye to Gran......flippin typical! For all those Balcombes out there we had a call from Gran to say she was having a fab time, having lots of laughs and a thoroughly great time with everyone! More updates will follow!
