4 Years

Well I knew Dan was taking me away for our 4th Wedding anniversary but I had no idea where or for how long! So up we got on Friday morning and off we set in a taxi to the airport! I was so excited! We went to check in and found out we were off to Auckland! Yay a big city! AND it is where our lovely friends Paul and Laura live and would maybe give us the opportunity to meet Gracie! (I had been itching to get up there for such a long time!)
So we got on the plane.....me extra giddy and set off on out "mini break"!! So Bridget Jones!

After the awesome views we arrived in a hot and humid Auckland! Very happy! We wandered outside to catch a cab....Dan was faffing getting his sunglasses out....does he have no urgency! I wanted to get on with the holiday! But he had other plans up his sleeve!!!!! As out popped from the terminal Mr Kingsley-Smith! All perfectly arranged, ready to take us to his place to see the lovely Laura and Gracie!

We had a lovely day with the Kingsley-Smiths, Paul cooked an awesome brunch, we sat and caught up in their lovely sunny living room and got to cuddle the GORGEOUS Gracie!

So after brunch and another rest, Paul Dan and I headed off to the beach and went for a swim/sunbathe while Laura and Gracie had a sleep! It was gorgeous, chilly when you first got in but lovely afterwards! Two swims in the sea in a month! Oh Yeah! In the afternoon we went to Auckland Zoo which was I think the best Zoo I have ever been to! It was so cool! We saw loads of animals. I loved the hippos! They have such big mouths and I don't think I had ever seen them out of the water! We decided the end of the day was the best time to go as the animals were all up and about eating! In the evening Rachel came to babysit and we went out to Burger Fuel, I finally got to sample after all the raving I had heard from Dan! Paul and Laura took Dan when he had been in Auckland on business! And it definately lived up the reviews! I had the Studnut stilton, and it was the BEST burger I had ever eaten!

THEN the finale! Chocolate Boutique.......a whole shop dedicated to chocolate! A whole glass of melted chocolate! I have no more to say about that.....heavenly! Will definitely be going back to Parnell!

I think the expressions say it all! Then is was home....to our lovely hotel! The Quadrant. Lush...zzzzzzzzzzzzz A whole weekend still to go! And big thanks to Dan for organising the whole thing and to the Kingsley - Smiths for a fantastic day!
