Days like today!

Well it is yesterday now but the sentiment is the same! We managed to get out and enjoy the spring snow at Mt Hutt yesterday with Helen and Paul. It was great and quite a significant time for Em as it was the first time she had ventured up the mountain on the chair lift! It was quite exhilarating at it was mega windy (something Em discovered later didn't mix well with beginning to learn on the bigger slopes!) and chilly but the views were amazing and the sun was gorgeous! Two pretty neat runs in the morning getting to grips with it and loving having a bigger longer run! Dan managed to squeeze in three, plus a zip down the Intermediate slope with Helen and Paul. Emma is a little slower than Dan! Helen the patient (in the adjective sense!) as she shall now be known hung back with Em! The third run, the first after lunch did not go so well with Em getting wiped out by some anti social boarders and Skiers, I think she was beginning to think she had "hit me" written on her back! But in the end made it down (with only one (long) melt down when the wind got way too strong) and was still smiling! Thanks to Helen who was truly amazing! Then it was down to the more advanced to go off and play while Emma practiced! Great day though and we had a ball! Dan loves the new skis and Em is still making friends but she is a firm believer that they will be GREAT friends in the not too distant future, just a case of showing them who is boss! So anyway we realised that it is not very often that you are able to head off to the slopes during the day and then in the evening go to watch the New Zealand Royal Ballet company accompanied by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra! But it was absolutely amazing and a very lovely surprise! Great day all in all!
Its raining today though but we think that may mean snow in the hills so who knows what we'll be doing next weekend?!!! Besides we're a little tired after our big adventures!!!
