Backpackers, Beaches and Scrabble!

So much to catch up on! We have just had the most fantastic weekend with Becca and Adam our friends from Sheffield. They have been over in New Zealand for 3 weeks travelling round. They headed down to the South Island from Auckland after staying with Paul and Laura for a few weeks.

Off we set with our car stacked to the brim with luggage and snacks! As tradition seems to happen our first stop was Hanmer Springs! Our favourite place and as it turns out the best place to start being that hours of car travelling lay ahead. With DJ Staniforth creating the the grooves how could be go wrong!

Our first night was spent in Punakaiki on the west coast. First no. 1 Adam stays in Backpackers! We found this cool backpackers which was made up of a series of places nestles in the rainforest!

About 10 mins walk from our "hut" down the Truman Track was the most amazing beach! So we stayed to watch the sun go down. It was spectacular!
The evening ahead was fun with a competetive game of scrabble. Becca dedcided it really wasn't going her way so she kiked the board over! We all knew her plan! Anyhow she won in the end (better for all if us that she did!) though there was definately a Staniforth fight for victory, right until the last word! As people may have guessed I wowed the group by bringing in a fantastic loss of about 50 behind!
