We were all sad then when we found out that the Helicopters weren't going to be going up due to bad weather and believe me it was bad! Although this may seem a bit of a silly comment but we don't have much luck with rainforest areas! Last year on Vancouver Island.....rain, this year west coast of NZ...rain! And in copious amounts! It really doesn't rain it pours!
So instead of moping around we packed up the car and set off Fox Glacier and Lake Matheson. Sadly we got no views of Mt Cook from Lake Matheson, mainly due to the 5m visibility! We turned round half way, Dan and I played Pooh Sticks and we stopped to take some photos in a brief moment of the clound lifting!

Loving the blog and very jealous of your amazing road trip... We have an idea to beat the weather - how about going on holiday in summer...? You know it's the other way round there, right???!!!
