Onwards ever onwards

So after leaving Pancake Rocks we carried on through to Greymouth (toilet stop!) and frankly I think that would be the only reason to stop there. Dan has had to stay in Greymouth with work on a number of occasions and has said definitively that there is nothing to write home about! We did however try to go to the Monteiths brewery to do the "tour" unfortunately we had just missed it!
Hokitika was our next stop for lunch...we learnt not to trust NZ cornish pasties.....basically just some sort of offal meat wrapped in pastry. Dan was very sad. I think Hokitika is definately best visited when the Wild Foods Festival is on (March).
Again we trugged on, only stopping for photo opportunities! There were some beautiful places Adam took this fab shot of Lake Ianthe.
Dan tried his arty side, shame he couldn't find better material!!! Being that I rarely have my photo taken unless I demand it I thought I had better take the opportunity to post one that was non forced!

We finally arrived in Franz Joseph and found our accomodation that thankfully was really lovely! Unfortunately it was RAINING but unstopped as usual we had a look round. After some confusion (on my part) we managed to check in for our helicopter flight and investigated all the food possibilities! We split up for the evening to spend some quality girlie and boy time! Dan and Adam went to the pub to watch the Rugby and Becca and Emma stayed in to watch Wimbledon on Sky! We agreed to meet up for dinner later and we really dressed up for the occasion!

Rather that than drown on the way to the pub!

It would have been a fab evening, the food was fab and had we been able to speak the company would have been fab! But could we hear ourselves speak.......oh no, in fact we all nearly lost our hearing! We are so old! So we ate up drank up and returned to our hotel.......
